The Guardsmen Celebrity Dinner and Sports Auction has been a signature fundraising activity of The Guardsmen for twenty-four years and is one of the premier charity sports auctions in the Bay Area. The Auction typically raises approximately $125,000 for the benefit of at-risk youth in the greater San Francisco Bay Area and is targeting even more this year. Proceeds from the event also benefit the Guardsmen’s long-time partner, the Giants Community Fund.
The Guardsmen Sports Auction provides our sponsors and attendees with a unique opportunity to meet and mingle with both Bay Area & global sports personalities. Over the last few years, our all-star cast from the Bay Area sports world has included Ronnie Lott, Aaron Rodgers, J.T. Snow, Jeff Tedford, Larry Baer, Brian Sabean, Bruce Bochy, Renel Brooks-Moon, Damon Bruce, Tom Tolbert, Gary Plummer, Bill Romonowski, Robb Nen, Jeremy Affeldt, Sergio Romo, Pat Burrell, Kirk Rueter, Sugar Ray Leonard, and many other current and former San Francisco Giants and prominent Bay Area sports media personalities.
The Auction is an excellent opportunity to convene in support of an extraordinary organization. The Guardsmen invites professional organizations, professional sports teams, individual philanthropists, professional and Olympic athletes, and other various partners with us in bettering our community and serving the needs of at-risk Bay Area youth.
The Guardsmen is a group of Bay Area men mobilizing their significant talents and resources to enhance and improve the lives of at-risk youth. This all-volunteer organization, founded in 1947, provides access to high-quality educational and outdoor activities for inner-city youth. The opportunities created through The Guardsmen's scholarship and campership programs mean that every year kids who otherwise would not have a chance at success are given the opportunity to excel as productive members of society. Each year The Guardsmen sends 2,500 youth to outdoor education programs and provides scholarship support to more than 250 students at Bay Area private schools.
The Guardsmen is committed to making sure that fundraising dollars are spent wisely, with the greatest need and highest returns always in mind. In fact, approximately 90 cents of every dollar raised goes directly to support programs for kids.
