Event Details

This year the topic is Civil Rights and Social Justice: A thoughtful discussion of today's challenges and opportunities. Dr. Terrence Roberts civil rights pioneer, holder of the Congressional Gold Medal, and one of the "Little Rock Nine" stood up for equal access to education during a pivotal moment of the Civil Rights Movement will be the keynote speaker at the conference. On Friday evening, Dr. Roberts will relate how Judge Davies’ court orders impacted Central High School, the community of Little Rock and the Civil Rights Movement.

 

Referencing the Civil Rights Movement and Attorney General Robert Kennedy's September 13, 1963, address the National Congress of American Indians at their (20th) annual convention, held in Bismarck our intent is to look back and evaluate where we are now and what and how changes are needed and assist participants to think in new ways about human rights and social justice.
