From its humble beginning as a project started by the City of Los Angeles to foster cultural understanding among the diverse constituency of the city, the Festival of Philippine Arts & Culture (FPAC) celebrates its 22nd annual event with the theme Pag-Ugnay, Paglago at Pagbabago - Interconnectedness, Abundance, and Renewal.
The two-day event features:
- Live entertainment on two stages featuring Rex Navarrete and the Filipino American Symphony Orchestra to name a few
- Family fun events such as the 14th Annual Vegetable Competition and the 6th Annual Tinikling Battle
- Filipino & Asian Cuisine
- Traditional Dance & Martial Arts
- Shopping at the Marketplace by the Sea
- ...and much, much more!
ABOUT THE PRODUCERS:
Embracing the value of KAPWA (shared being), the Association for the Advancement of Filipino American Arts and Culture, also known as FilAm ARTS, is a 501(c) nonprofit organization whose mission is to facilitate community synergy and transformation by advancing the arts and diverse cultural heritage of Filipinos through arts services, presentation and education.
With five public programs - the Annual Festival of Philippine Arts & Culture, the statewide Pilipino Artists Network, the arts education program Eskuwela Kultura, the Buy Pinoy Campaign and the Saysay Project, FilAm ARTS believes in the power of the arts to overcome language barriers and build community through cultural diversity.
