Event Details

STAND! for Families Free of Violence is thrilled to announce that the outstanding and talented actor and author Victor Rivers, will be the keynote speaker for its annual Rebuilding Lives Luncheon.  The lunch will take place on October 4, 2012, at the Concord Hilton with Cheryl Jennings, News Anchor from ABC7/KGO-TV, as the Mistress of Ceremonies.  The program for this year’s luncheon is fantastic and one that you will not want to miss.

Each year, community supporters and colleagues of STAND! come together to remember and renew our commitment to ending domestic violence.  This is our 20th annual luncheon and it promises to be a memorable one. Mr. Rivers will no doubt make remarks that reflect his passion and enthusiasm for healthy families, while speaking from his heart about the domestic violence that surrounded him while growing up.

The program will also feature a journey of healing and success from a former STAND! client and the presentation of the Rollie Mullen award for outstanding achievement and advocacy for ending domestic violence in Contra Costa County.

Mission

STAND! For Families Free of Violence leads the community in ending domestic violence, child abuse and rebuilding lives.

Philosophy

STAND! For Families Free of Violence has a commitment to promoting safe, stable, and strong families in our community. STAND!s approach to family violence is well-rounded and community-wide. In addition to a complete spectrum of prevention, intervention, and treatment programs, STAND enlists the efforts of the communities it serves, as well as partners and institutions striving with us to stop violence and child abuse. We cannot achieve our mission without the efforts of everyone in the community, every school, every faith community, and every neighborhood.
