This free event enables you to learn from researchers, practitioners and community leaders on how you can help drive transformative change and elevate the entire field of abuse prevention.

Speaker and Session Summary:

  • The first public presentation of the Texas Youth Permanency Study, a new longitudinal study on youth permanency outcomes from Child and Family Research Institute. Drs. Monica Faulkner (UT-Austin); Tina Adkins (UT-Austin) and Alfred Pérez (UT-San Antonio).

  • Special guest speaker Rodney Brittingham from the Annie E. Casey Foundation on "Every Kid Needs a Family," a KIDS COUNT policy report.

  • An interview on the use of predictive analytics in child welfare with Dr. Dyann Daley, an innovator in the field of child maltreatment prevention.

  • A panel discussion highlighting the perspectives of medical experts on child abuse pediatrics across Texas with Drs. Kelly Liker (Dell Children's), Chris Greeley (Texas Children's) and Anu Partap (Children's Medical Center Dallas).

  • A panel discussion focusing on the role of policy in driving transformative change, not only in Texas but also nationally. Featuring DFPS PEI, Children's Defense Fund, Annie E. Casey Foundation, and more.
