The Indiana Latino Institute will host the 3rd Annual Indiana Latino Education Summit - Excelling Access to Higher Education: Recruit, Retain, and Complete on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the JW Marriott.
The summit will convene higher education institution leaders, K-12 faculty including educators, administrators and counselors as well as institution leaders, community leaders, government officials, policy makers, private and public employers, and other interested groups who have a stake in increasing higher education attainment in the Indiana Latino community. They will learn how culturally responsive recruitment and retention methods are vital to degree completion for our Latino students. This also serves as an opportunity for the Indiana Latino Higher Education Consortium to collaborate on strategies involving higher education access and success.
It will also provide Indiana Latino High School students with valuable information on getting to and through college. Students will attend workshops such as: Financial Aid Literacy, Scholarships, Internships, STEM Careers, Career Exploration, FAFSA Navigation Tips, Networking, Life During and After College and have the opportunity to experience over 40 Indiana Higher Education institutions. With access to resources via panels, roundtable discussions, and leadership development sessions, students will excel at attaining post-secondary achievements.
