Student registration is only $50 for the entire weekend, thanks to the generous Nikon Professional Services student attendance sponsorship!
The NPS student discount enables the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar to offer affordable educational opportunities and practical workshops to the next generation of photojournalists. This is a substantial price decrease from previous years.
Veterans will be recognized with a special discount and attendees are reminded the all-volunteer Seminar is a tax exempt 501c3 organization.
Photo and Video Workshops are Friday, Nov. 11, 2016: choose a daytime Photo tract, an evening Video tract, or both.
The Seminar continues Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, with Speaker sessions from the country's premier photojournalists, videographers and multimedia specialists. To help conclude on a fun note, Saturday night will feature a relaxed social evening with a chance to meet industry experts and participate in popular portfolio reviews.
The international Photography Contest deadline is 11:59 p.m., Nov. 9, 2016 (EST). All contest entries must be received no later than that date. Visit our website (http://www.photojournalism.org/contest/) for more contest information.
Reminders: Tickets are non-refundable and the Seminar is open to anyone wishing to attend. A government-issued ID is required to pick up badges. The Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar
The Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar was founded in 1973 by a group of photojournalists representing newspapers, magazines and wire services. Its reason for being is to promote the highest standards of photojournalism through an annual educational conference and a photography contest judged by working photographers.
Speakers throughout the years have included Pulitzer Prize winners, Photographer of the Year winners, major magazine and wire service photographers, influential directors of photography, respected educators in photojournalism, academia, and others significant in this profession. Founded as a regional event, the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar has grown to become one of the most prestigious photojournalism seminars in the world.
The Seminar will be held at the Hilton Atlanta Northeast near Peachtree Corners and close to I-285 and I-85 north. There are dozens of shops and restaurants nearby for a reasonably priced quick bite to eat or for socializing.
