Dave "Mullet" Martin Visual Grant Contribution
This fund is established in AP staff photographer Dave Martin's name. "Mullet" was a mentor, a visionary, and a good friend to many photojournalists in the USA and abroad. He covered events ranging from Hurricane Katrina to the Gulf oil spill, the Olympics and too many NCAA and NFL football games to count. David's final photo was a wonderful game-ender at the 2013 Chick-fil-A Bowl that sums up his philosophy and drive to get "the picture." The Seminar is a tax exempt 501c3 organization and your optional contribution for this grant insures that visual journalism students can have the funds to complete a project of their choice. A $1000.00 grant will be awarded annually from these contributions.

The Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar

The Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar was founded in 1973 by a group of photojournalists representing newspapers, magazines and wire services. Its reason for being is to promote the highest standards of photojournalism through an annual educational conference and a photography contest judged by working photographers.

Speakers throughout the years have included Pulitzer Prize winners, Photographer of the Year winners, major magazine and wire service photographers, influential directors of photography, respected educators in photojournalism, academia, and others significant in this profession. Founded as a regional event, the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar has grown to become one of the most prestigious photojournalism seminars in the world.

The Seminar will be held at the Hilton Atlanta Northeast near Peachtree Corners and close to I-285 and I-85 north. There are dozens of shops and restaurants nearby for a reasonably priced quick bite to eat or for socializing.
