This high energy food competition held on February 19, 2015 benefits ICA Food Shelf and features local chefs from the western suburbs. Returning champion Jake O’Connor’s will battle for the Golden Cleaver.
How does it work?
Sizzle for a cause is modeled after The Food Network’s Chopped program. Head Chefs from top restaurants in the area are invited to come together and compete for the Golden Cleaver so they can claim cooking supremacy, in what has become an annual competition.
Each Chef will be asked to prepare food using a “secret ingredient”. Not only will local celebrity judges be present, but attendees will be able to sample appetizers from each restaurant! Dessert is also provided.
Soak up a lakeside view and sample a selection of locally crafted beer and wine, from Excelsior Brewing Company and The Real Wine Republic. Full bar available.
Proceeds raised during the event will be donated to support local neighbors in need through ICA Food Shelf. (www.icafoodshelf.org)
