2014 Women's Legislative Briefing

The Montgomery County Commission for Women and our many co-sponsoring organizations invite you to the 2014 Women's Legislative Briefing.
Registration begins at noon with light refreshments, and the conference will open with a keynote address followed by a panel discussion on Women's Issues in Congress. Compelling seminars on legislation in the Maryland General Assembly will fill out the afternoon.
New This year: special seminars will be offered for students in grades 8 - 12, accompanied by a parent or chaperone. (The program we anticipate using will be built around a documentary rated for ages 13 and up by Common Sense Media and TV Parental Guidelines.)
A reception will conclude the event providing an opportunity to meet with county and state elected officials, advocates and representatives of the most prominent county, state and national women's organizations.

Montgomery County Commission for Women
The Montgomery County Commission for Women is a 15-member advisory board created by County law in 1972 and charged with the responsibility of advising the County Executive, County Council, the public and the agencies of the county, state and federal government on the issues of concern to women. Over the past four decades, the MC-CFW has addressed such issues as Single Mothers and Poverty, Immigrant Women's Issues, Educational Equity, Family Equity in the Courts, Pay Equity, Work and Family Policies, Violence in Relationships, Employment Rights of Pregnant Women and much more.
