The Spring Hoot of the Silver Owls will feature Dan Balz, political reporter and columnist for the Washington Post, along with the induction of new members of the Silver, Golden and Platinum Owls, and the awarding of the Order of the Owl.
Balz, who has been on the Post’s staff since 1978, has served as national editor, political editor, White House correspondent and as the newspaper’s southwest correspondent.
He is the author of “Collision 2012: the Future of Election Politics in a Divided America” and was the co-author, with Haynes Johnson, of “The Battle for America: the Story of an Extraordinary Election,” about the 2008 campaigns. He has appeared on television’s “Meet the Press” and “Washington Week.”
Balz will discuss the upcoming mid-term elections as well as the outlook for the 2016 presidential contest. There will be a Q&A period.
The Spring Hoot will include a traditional Silver Owls sit-down dinner with a cash bar reception. $35 per person.
