9:00am - 10:00am Babysitter Re-Orientation
Our Houston babysitters are exceptional, and it's necessary to go over our standards, procedures and best practices. For all caregivers wishing to remain active as a babysitter with Mom's Best Friend, this re-orientation training is required. A light breakfast is provided.
10:00am - 11:00am Infant Sleep Solutions
De'Chelle Pierson, Pediatric RN, Founder of Brilliantly Baby will provide you with the true reality of newborn and infant sleep requirements, sleep milestones and promoting healthy sleep habits including understanding the sleep routine and cycle of newborns/infants, establishing healthy sleep patterns, nap scheduling and overnight sleep, weaning from swaddling, and ideal sleep environment and sleep consolidation. Ms. Pierson is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, American Heart Association CPR Instructor, member of the Association of Women's Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses, Houston Association of Neonatal Nurses and Le Leche League Fort Bend County. Ms. Pierson currently currently works for one of the most profound pediatric hospitals in the Houston Medical Center.
11:00am - 12:00pm Developing and Supporting the Emerging Reader
Eddie Rodriguez, Founder of the Center for Assisted Learning, will share best practices for language learning acquisition in the pre-k years. He will provide suggestions for positioning emerging readers to be successful with emphasis on word knowledge, speech, and inquiry. Additionally, he will discuss signs to look out for possible learning disabilities such as Dyslexia, ADD and slow processing speed.
12:00pm - 1:00pm Working Lunch: Building and Maintaining an A+ Profile
Katie Townsend from Mom's Best Friend will be sharing practical ways to highlight your strengths, and make yourself more valuable and marketable to family employers. Whether you are looking for a job, keeping your profile or resume current, or preparing for an employer evaluation, you will find useful information to put in place immediately! We will have boxed lunches from Cafe Express and great raffle prizes!
1:00pm - 2:00pm Making Healthy Eating Fun!
Megan Schwartz, RD LD of Kids Nutrition of Houston will provide creative ways for children to eat healthy such as "eating the rainbow". She is a great resource for those of you dealing with picky eaters!
