About the assembly

WSSDA's Legislative Committee solicits input from all Washington school boards on issues affecting public education. The committee meets twice during the summer to analyze proposals and generate ideas and proposals on its own. The Legislative Assembly acts on these proposals and creates a comprehensive legislative agenda, subject to final approval by the WSSDA Board of Directors.

 

FAQs

Who should attend?

All school directors are encouraged to attend the Legislative Assembly. District staff are also invited to attend, although only school directors may address the assembly and only one director per district may vote on each issue. While legislative representatives from each district normally serve as delegates to the assembly, voting credentials may be shared among attending directors at each boards discretion.

What payment types are accepted?

Payment types accepted are credit card, check, and purchase order. To pay via check or purchase order, click "Show other payment options" and "Pay Offline" under the green Register button on the form.

Can I update my registration information?

You can update the information on your order (like name, email address, or answers to the organizer's questions) from Current Orders under My Tickets.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No ticket or confirmation number is needed at check-in. 

What is the refund policy?

There is a $100 charge for cancellations received after September 5. Refunds are not provided for no-shows. Refunds for payments made via credit card will be applied to the credit card used for purchase.

Can I register for Legislative Assembly in-person on September 18th?

Attendees are encouraged to register on-line, prior to the event. Walk-in registrations will be accepted, however payment must be made via check or purchase order only.

Who should go to the New to Assembly Luncheon?

First-time attendees or those who need a refresher on assembly procedures. Cost of the luncheon is $25.

What's the Innovative Schools Tour?

A tour of area innovative schools on Friday, Nov 19. There is no cost for the tour, however it is limited to the first 40 people who register for the tour.
