Chris Casacchia is the lead technology reporter for the Orange County Business Journal. Before joining the publication, he covered banking and finance, sports business and media for the Phoenix Business Journal from 2006-2010. He captured numerous reporting awards chronicling the region’s real estate crash, the growth of spring training baseball and major sporting events such as Super Bowl XLII and the BCS National Championship. After spending the entire week in Las Vegas at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show, Chris will be able to provide valuable insight on how emerging technologies will impact businesses in Orange County.
Ken Lowe - Vice President and Co-Founder, VIZIO Inc.

With 40 years of experience in television and monitor design, Mr. Lowe has a proven record of developing innovative, cost effective designs to meet consumer requirements. His passion for picture quality in lower energy sustainable designs has earned him the reputation as an industry leader. Prior to founding VIZIO Inc., a leading Consumer Electronics company in Flat Panel HDTVs, Surround Sound Bars and BluRay players, he held key management and design positions with Princeton Graphic Systems and MAG Innovision in the USA, Philips and Electrohome in Canada, Philips Television and Decca Radio & TV in the UK. A member of the Video Board Division and the Board of Industry Leaders in the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the Board of the Washington Materials Management and Financial Authority (e-Recycling), the Advisory Board of the California Plug Load Research Center (CalPlug) initiative of Calit2 at the University of California Irvine (UCI), Mr. Lowe holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering from Middlesex University, London, England, and is a member of the Institution of Engineering Technology (IET), Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
Peter Polydor - Director, Ergo Capital
Peter is an entrepreneur, investor, tech enthusiast and a founder of ERGO Capital Partners. At ERGO, Peter focuses on new investments and portfolio management within technology, media and energy sectors. Currently he sits on the Board of Directors of ecoPHYSI and Wikipad as well as the Advisory Board for a number of startups. Peter is also the founder of the Eureka Project, a 3 acre tech hub meant to foster innovation and entrepreneurs in Orange County. Prior to ERGO, Peter was Vice President of SAIL Capital a cleantech venture capital firm headquartered in California. While at SAIL, Peter reviewed new investment opportunities, accelerated business plans and opened new markets by developing strategic partnerships for SAIL. Outside of investment management, Peter conducted market research at Citigroup, policy research at the US House of Representatives, was involved in operations and management of privately owned real estate development firms as well as started, built and sold a web-services company.
Christian Scheder - President, XPAL
Christian Scheder is the President of XPAL Power, a portable power company in Irvine, Ca. XPAL Power produces portable power products and charging solutions for laptops, cellphones, tablets, and other devices and also houses three successful brands, Energizer Energi-To-Go, SpareOne, and PowerSkin. Christian attended Colgate University where he attained a B.S. in International Business. After college Christian was offered a position at Cushman and Wakefield, but unfortunately at that exact moment, a car accident provided him with an even stronger life lesson. Christian left the offered job to follow his heart (to live life to its fullest), and became a Professional Windsurfer. He ultimately was ranked 4th in the US and 28th in the world. After this accomplishment Christian decided to merge his education with his passion and settled down in Colorado to ski and start the next chapter of his life.
George Stepancich – Executive Board and Industry Board of Leaders of Consumer Electronics Association; CEO of Invisionate.
George Stepancich is the CEO of Invisionate, LLC a Sourcing Advisory Consulting Company located in Dana Point, CA. Previously, he ran GoldLantern, LLC, and a Consumer Electronics Company and was the chief architect of vision and strategy for a start up venture funded by Goldman Sachs. Prior to that Stepancich was Director of Business Development for the Telecom division of Siemens AG that generated $2 billion in sales. Mr. Stepancich joined Siemens from NETCOM an Internet Service Provider which was acquired for $256 million. Before that he developed and directed GTE’s Internet Services strategy and served as Associate Director of Telecommunications for the University of California at San Diego. Mr. Stepancich received a BA degree in Business from Cal State Long Beach and attended courses from faculty and staff associated with Harvard, MIT, Stanford, and Yale. Mr. Stepancich is presently serving on the CEA Consumer Electronics Association Accessory Board, Wireless Division Board, CEA Executive Board, and Industry Board of Leaders.
