Welcome to the 2014 Idaho State Driver Education Conference
Valuable reasons to attend:
Safety and Liability -Traffic education is not just an academic subject. It deals with our teens' number one public health issue—driving. Each participant is given valuable information for minimizing risk and liability exposure for their district, teachers and students.
Ongoing Academic Requirements-You are required to obtain additional education for renewal of driver educator license. The annual Driver Education Conference can be taken for one semester credit through Northwest Nazarene University. Renewal units can be provided in lieu of credit. It is a valuable and convenient way to meet the profession’s academic requirements.
Changing and Emerging Issues- Traffic safety is the desired outcome of a very complex mobility system that continues to change and evolve. The demand upon our teachers to correctly and thoroughly teach our youth also changes and evolves. This year’s conference addresses the latest issues with the best practices, including understanding crash dynamics and ways to encourage good driving habits and avoid distracted driving behavior.
Professional Relationship- Professional networking with one’s peers is a very important aspect of staying current in one’s profession. For teachers new to the profession, the conference provides opportunities for mentoring and gaining from the experience of others.
