Welcome to the 2014 event page for the 6th annual St. Paddy's Denver Pub Crawl, bennefiting the First Descents charity. This event is designed to bring together people looking for a fun way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, and at the same time, raise money for a great charity - 'Drinking for a Cause', if you will. This year the pub crawl will travel along Denver's historic South Broadway Street (again). The pub crawl begins on March 15th at 11:00am, so you are encouraged to rest up the night before.

If you have attended this event in the past, you are used to using Evite to register for the pub crawl. We've outgrown that site's capabilities and will be using Eventbrite this year to makes things run smoother.
**Please note, Eventbrite uses the term "ticket", but for this event it equates to a pub crawl shirt order or donation.

First and foremost, all attendees are welcome, but we really appreciate if everyone comes with a good attitude and acts responsibly during the festivities. In the past, we've had as many as 160 people, and it's best if everyone comes with a positive and fun demeanor. The typical partipants are young professionals between 25-35, but again, everyone is welcome!
How it Works
There are 3 simple steps to attend this year's pub crawl:
1. Make a shirt purchase or donation on this event page above
Aside from having a really fun time, this event has the ulterior motive to raise money for charity (more information below). Participants in the crawl are asked to buy a $20 pub crawl shirt (highly recommended) or make a $10 donation - of which, all profits will be given to the First Descents charity. The shirt design is shown below. Please sign up for this event as soon as possible, so that I can notify the bars of how many people to expect. Also, I am restricting the attendance count to 200, so please sign up early.
Any additional or standalone donations are always appreciated.
2. Pick up your shirt BEFORE THE PUB CRAWL on Thursday, March 13th from 6-10PM at Campus Lounge (701 S. University Blvd, Denver, CO 80209)
I don't like carrying a lot of shirts around and it's more convenient for everyone to wear them to the first bar. Please plan on picking up your t-shirt at my local watering hole - Campus Lounge on March 13th from 6-10pm. If you need to pick it up at a different time, please contact me at the link below.
3. Show up at 11:00am at Sobo 151 (151 S. Broadway St, Denver, CO 80209) on March 15th
We will be starting at Sobo 151 at 11am. It takes a while to get organized. The first stop is a good place to grab a bite to eat and to settle in and meet new people.

Below is the pub crawl route. These are just estimated times at this point, and the route is subject to minor changes prior to the event. A map of the pub crawl stops will also be printed on the back of the shirt.

Shirt Design (past and present)
The pub crawl shirt has become a tradition that many look forward to. These shirts are made of high-quality ringspun soft cotton. The women's shirts are fitted, so it's recommended to get a size (or two) larger. This year's design gains inspiration from the Guinness logo, and should prove to be a design many will want to show off year-round. The back of the shirt will include a map illustration of the pub crawl route - in case you get lost :)
Shirt orders will be accepted until March 10th. Please place your order promptly. You are also welcome to order extras for friends/family. Please contact me if you are ordering extras and will not attend the crawl.
This event started out as just a get-together amongst friends looking for something fun to do on St. Patrick's Day in 2008. Over the years, and with great input from participants, this event has prospered into a much more of an ocassion, and one that helps people out in the process. The first four years, the pub crawl route went down Denver's Colfax Ave. A couple of years in, we decided to make some shirts. After that, we added the charitable part. Typically we raise between $1000-2000, but it really depends on the number of attendees.
The Charity: First Descents
This year we're are supporting a great charity that helps improve the quality of life for young adult cancer fighters and survivors. All profits from this event will go to First Descents.

WHAT HAPPENS AT FIRST DESCENTS®
First Descents offers young adult cancer fighters and survivors a free outdoor adventure experience designed to empower them to climb, paddle and surf beyond their diagnosis, defy their cancer, reclaim their lives and connect with others doing the same.
During the First Descents experience, young adult survivors and fighters are empowered through conquering legitimate outdoor challenges to push their limits and face their fears, and by doing so, they are able to regain the confidence and self-efficacy lost to cancer. First Descents places an emphasis on each individual’s experience and provides the right support for every participant to achieve their goals for the week. The experience is designed to allow healing to happen naturally and organically – no forced conversations and no structured group sessions or therapy.
Each program is limited to 15 participants, ensuring individualized care, medical attention and an intimate experience with fellow survivors. First Descents programs are available to young adults with cancer regardless of their financial means. All meals, accommodations and program activities are provided free of charge, including travel scholarships, when needed. In 2012 First Descents hosted 46 2-day to week-long programs across the US and internationally. In 2013 we will host 50+ programs in North, Central and South America and beyond.
