Event Details

John Mock’s art revolves around one thing – coastlines. A fan of all things aquatic, Mock has spent his adult life creating music and capturing elegant photos of his muse. Maine Maritime Museum will showcase both of his talents as he presents a stunning multimedia concert “From the Shoreline”.

Throughout his presentation Mock shares the heritage of the sea through his elegant and unique original instrumental compositions on the guitar, concertina and tin whistle while his striking photography is projected alongside, drawing audiences in as his casual narration and storytelling tie it all together.

Mock’s view of coastlines from Ireland and Chincoteague to New England’s quaint villages with wooden boats and whitewashed lighthouses inspire and inform while highlighting the mystery and allure of the sea and our heritage allowing Mock to connect even deeper with his audiences. Mock is a master at capturing the essence of the Sea.

A native of Connecticut’s eastern shore, Mock is widely sought after as a composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist, he has worked with such notable artists as James Taylor and the Dixie Chicks, and his orchestral arrangements have been performed by the London Symphony, the National Symphony and the National Orchestra of Ireland.
