Many women choose to strengthen the mother/child bond and give their babies the best in nutrition by breastfeeding. This 2 ½ hr class covers the basics of breastfeeding and is taught by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Moms and Dads will learn the steps to breastfeeding success, infant cues, breastfeeding management, father’s role, sore nipples and engorgement, expressing and storing milk. Fathers are encouraged to attend.
What to Bring: Snack and drink for your break time. All other supplies will be provided.
Florida Hospital Altamonte's Baby Place provides women with more birthing options within the safety of a hospital setting. It is the only maternity unit to offer amenities and choices within a hospital that are often found only in a birthing center. This allows women the opportunity to customize their birth experience, therefore giving them more power and involvement in the birthing process.
