Listed as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by TIME magazine, and as a member of "The Century Club" - one of the "hundred most prominent people to watch in this century" - by NEWSWEEK magazine, this year's Scientist of the Year Dinner honors V.S. Ramachandran, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Ramachandran is the Director of the Center for Brain and Cognition and Distinguished Professor with the Psychology Department and Neurosciences Program at the Univeristy of California, San Diego, and Adjunct Professor of Biology at the Salk Institute. He is best know for his experiments in behavioral neurology, which have had a profound impact on the way we think about the brain.
Don't miss the evening with this amazing, and influential scientist.
ARCS Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization started and run entirely by women who see a national problem and are taking the initiative to try to solve it. The organization’s aim is to address this country's most critical competitiveness issue: the serious shortage of American scientists and engineers. We address this issue by providing financial awards and encouragement to men and women working to complete their degrees in science, engineering, and medical research. Since its founding in 1958, ARCS Foundation has grown to 17 chapters nationally that together have contributed more than $87 million to nearly 9,000 ARCS Scholars at 54 of the country's top research universities.
