Important Notes in Preparation for the Travis Manion 911 Heroes Run: here are a few notes to make the upcoming weekend run as smooth as possible for all of our participants. Please share these notes with as many people as possible.

 

Saturday, Sept. 6th:

911 Heroes Run EXPO/Packet Pickup/Race Registration at Delaware Valley College (Student Center) from 10am to 4pm

WE STRONGLY URGE YOU PICK UP AT THE EXPO.

 

Sunday, Sept. 7th:

10am:  Packet pickup/race registration opens at Fonthill Park

12:30pm:  packet pickup/race registration closes

1pm: 911 Heroes Run Ceremony

1:45pm:  Fun Run/Walk (Court Street)

2pm:  5k Run (Court Street)

Post Race awards for 5k

 

LOCATION:  Fonthill Park (enter from Route 313)

 

PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY AS WE HAVE AN UNFORGETTABLE CEREMONY( at 1pm) TO HONOR OUR HEROES. 

WE HAVE PROJECTED 2,500 PARTICIPANTS THAT HAVE TO GO THROUGH REGISTRATION/PACKET PICKUP! PACKET PICKUP/RACE DAY REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE AT 12:30PM.

DUE TO LARGE NUMBERS PLEASE ALLOW EXTRA TIME FOR PARKING, TO PICK UP PACKETS, ETC. PARKING MAY BE FULL PRIOR TO THE CEREMONY.

 

IMPORTANT:  PACKET PICKUP/RACE DAY REGISTRATION ON SUNDAY WILL CLOSE AT 12:30PM SHARP IN ORDER TO PREPARE FOR THE CEREMONY. 

PLEASE MAKE SURE TO PICK UP YOUR BIB (IF YOU HAVE PRE REGISTERED AND DO NOT PICK UP AT DELAWARE VALLEY COLLEGE ON SATURDAY) OR REGISTER FOR THE FUN RUN/WALK BETWEEN 10AM AND 12:30AM ON RACE DAY.

 

Please bring your registration receipt with you to aid in the packet pickup process. If you are picking up for someone else, please make sure that you have their receipt or all of their information.

 

Parking:  at this point, we have a big crowd of runners/walkers/spectators and more are arriving every day!!  Parking will be available at Fonthill Park.  Please enter the Park off of Route 313 and volunteers will be happy to direct you to available space. Due to limited parking, please carpool/walk if possible

 

Pre-Registration:  for those who have already pre-registered for the 5k or fun run/walk event, you still need to check in, collect your bib, etc. at either the Expo on Saturday (at Delaware Valley College between 10am and 4pm) or on race morning (at Fonthill between 10am and 12:30pm).  Due to the large crowds it is strongly suggested that you collect your items at the Expo on Saturday if possible. 

 

Race Day Registration:  for those who are registering for the fun run/walk or 5k race this weekend, you can register at the Expo on Saturday (Delaware Valley College between 10am and 4pm) or on race morning (Fonthill between 10am and 12:30pm). There will be a separate line where you 1.) fill out your registration form and sign the waiver; 2.) pay; and 3.) pick up your bib, etc.

 

Awesome Awards:  there will be a 5k awards ceremony as soon as the 5k run results come in...so don't run off too quickly!  Age award categories will be listed in the registration tent area and at the Expo.

 

Travis Manion Merchandise, etc. for sale:  You will also have the opportunity to purchase Travis Manion Foundation merchandise at both the Expo and on race day while supplies last.  In addition, area vendors will be at the event on Sunday selling food, drinks, etc.

SUNDAY 9/7 Happenings: 1-1:30pm Opening Ceremony. 1:45pm 1 Mile Family Run/Walk start; 2pm 5K start

We run to ACTIVATE COMMUNITIES and EMPOWER your local veterans, first responders and survivors.

 

THE 9/11 HEROES RUN UNITES COMMUNITIES INTERNATIONALLY WITH THE GOAL TO NEVER FORGET THE SACRIFICES OF THE HEROES OF SEPTEMBER 11TH AND IN THE WARS SINCE: VETERAN, FIRST RESPONDER, CIVILIAN, AND MILITARY. JOIN US TO RAISE AWARENESS AND HONOR THE FALLEN.

A portion of the proceeds raised stay in the host race communities to support local veterans, their families, and first responder - remaining proceeds support Travis Manion Foundation Challenge Grants, which provide veterans and families of fallen service members support through service-based team building events that foster camaraderie and facilitate successful life transitions.

The 9/11 Heroes Run 5K & 1Mile fun run/walk* welcomes runners and walkers of all levels and of all ages. Events take place all over the world, on or near September 11th, and are 100% organized by local community volunteers. It is the perfect opportunity for your community to personally come out and thank your local first responders, military, and veterans in an annual, fun, and family friendly environment!

9/11 Heroes Run

The 9/11 Heroes Run is a programmatic branch of the Travis Manion Foundation. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that directly supports veterans, their families, and families of fallen service members. We do this by providing emergency assistance, scholarships, and other direct financial support when a family or veteran is in need; however, we’ve found the greatest impact and positive change occurs when the military community is challenged to continue to serve. Families who have lost a loved one want nothing more than to honor their fallen heroes memory in a way that exemplifies their sacrifice. Similarly, veterans are looking for a mission and purpose once they leave active service.

The Travis Manion Foundation provides the avenues for this growth and healing through the execution of our three distinct programs: Challenge Grants, Character Does Matter, and the 9/11 Heroes Run.
