2013 St. Croix Food & Wine Experience

The St. Croix Food & Wine Experience, named one on the Ten Best International Food and Wine Festivals by Forbes Travel, showcases the diverse cuisine and wine available on St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. The multi-day event includes gourmet dinners, wine seminars, wine auctions, and the annual culinary competition, A Taste of St. Croix. The culinary event series is the major fundraiser of the year for the St. Croix Foundation, a community Foundation supporting public safety, historic preservation and education reform (www.stxfoundation.org). The fundraiser also supports direct efforts to increase St. Croix tourism, culinary education and scholarship support.
The event was started in 2001 by restaurant owners Katherine Pugliese of Eat@CaneBay, and Kelly Odom of Tutto Bene, and is recognized as the pre-eminent food and wine event in the Caribbean. For more information visit www.stcroixfoodandwine.com.

Cuisine on The Green – Carambola Golf Course hosts a fun tournament with bites and beverages at the tees. Non-golfers are invited to samples the tastings via a golf-cart tour.
Gourmet Vintner Dinner – Tutto Bene pairs celebrity Chef Todd Gray with a renowned wine maker and the results always astound! This dinner, held on Tuesday, kicks off the week of indulgence and generosity.
City Crawl - Walk the historic streets of downtown Christiansted as you sample food and specialty drinks at particpating restaurants.
Let's Move! - Chef Todd Gray will discuss his work with Michelle Obama's "Chefs Move to Schools" initiative, his work in the District of Columbia with the Murch School and how the same promgra can be done in the US Virgin Islands.
Food Fight – Celebrity and island chefs team together to compete in a hilarious series of challenges that has had past competitors swimming in the ocean, cracking conch and answering tricky questions like “What cut of meat did Lady Gaga wear?” The Food Fight is held on Wednesday evening at Eat@CaneBay, a popular beach bar and restaurant.
Lunch 'n Learn – Visiting vintners and wine experts provide wine seminars in this delicious lunch and learn.
Galleon Wine Dinner– The Galleon Restaurant will feature a special menu perfectly paired by a guest vintner from Banfi.
A Taste of St. Croix – The event that started the entire program is A Taste of St. Croix, a one-night event held at a beachside resort where local restaurants provide attendees with a sampling of their delights. Winemakers, rum distilleries, and breweries also offer samples of their creations. This event sells out in 20 minutes and more than 1500 guest attend. Visiting celebrity chefs, winemakers and VIP’s are the judges. Tickets go on sale March 23th at 10 am.
Cork & Fork Dinners – These elegant, intimate dinners of 12 to 20 guests have a visiting celebrity chef paired with a visiting winemaker. The dinners have occured in historic homes, villas and even in the ballroom of the Government House.
Sunset BBQ – Held at historic Fort Fredrik during Sunset Jazz, celebrity chefs team with culinary students to show off their grilling skills. This event features three bars, two grilling stations and room to roam and dance.
Kids Cooking – Introduced in 2011, celebrity and local chefs offer simple, fun and healthy cooking classes for children. These occur Saturday morning 10:30am & 11:45am at Pearl B Larsen School
Wine in the Warehouse – Saturday night brings everyone together for music, wine tastings, cocktail samplings, small bites and great fun in the Leeward Warehouse
