Event Details

The New Jersey Figure Skating Foundation in conjunction with the New Jersey Council of Figure Skating Clubs is proud to host the 2013 Skatetacular - Celebrating the Jersey Shore on Saturday April 20 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Richard J. Codey Arena at South Mountain, 560 Northfield Avenue, West Orange, NJ. The arena is part of the Essex County Park System. The skating event is sanctioned by United States Figure Skating. Former Olympian and American figure skating champion JoJo Starbuck will be the emcee.

Olympians Colleen O'Connor, JoJo Starbuck, and Elaine Zayak will be inducted into the NJFSF Hall of Fame at the event.

The Patriot Brass Ensemble, whose mission is to honor and provide music to our Veterans and their families, will play at the event.

Ice Theatre of New York, whose offices at Chelsea Piers were destroyed during Hurricane Sandy, will perform 3 of their repertory pieces: An Englishman in New York, featuring Eliot Halverson; Lonely Town, starring Elisa Angeli; and the trio Dare Greatly, with Aliza Allen, Sally Jean Watkins, and Elisa Angeli.

Each year the NJ Figure Skating Foundation partners with another non-profit organization to share the proceeds from this charitable event. This year, to support the recovery and rebuilding of our State, a portion of the proceeds will go to Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund Inc., established by New Jersey’s First Lady Mary Pat Christie. The remaining proceeds from this event will benefit the New Jersey Figure Skating Foundation in its support of the Council’s scholarship and grants programs. These programs, provided to eligible New Jersey skaters and teams, include the NJCFSC Academic Honors Team, Synchronized Skating Grants, and the Grace Moore Competitors Assistance Scholarship Awards programs.
