For the first time ever, the SAME Honolulu Post opens its annual Pacific Industry Forum and Scholarship Program Golf Tournament to all SAME sustaining and individual members as well as non-members.
The two-day event kicks off on May 8, 2013 with the Pacific Industry Forum held at the Ala Moana Hotel. The events continue the following day, May 9, 2013 with the Scholarship Program Golf Tournament at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course at Marine Corps Base Hawaii.
The 2013 Pacific Industry Forum (normally open only to SAME Honolulu Post Sustaining Members, DoD Civil Service, and Uniformed Service Members) will bring SAME sustaining and individual members, non-members, and senior leaders from the Federal, State and County Governments for program briefings, a luncheon, small business opportunities, and speed networking session.
The following government agencies and companies are confirmed to provide briefings (more to be announced):
Federal – USACE (Army), NAVFAC (Navy), PACOM
State of Hawaii and City & County of Honolulu – HCDA, HDOT, BWS
Small Business Opportunities – HDOT DBE Program, NAVFAC Hawaii, NAVFAC Pacific, SBA, USACE
Sustaining Member Project Briefings – The first four (4) sustaining members who sign up for Platinum Sponsorship - AECOM, HDR, ECC

Society of American Military Engineers, Honolulu Post
The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), the premier professional military engineering association in the United States, unites architecture, engineering, construction (A/E/C), facility management and environmental entities and individuals in the public and private sectors to prepare for—and overcome—natural and manmade disasters, and to improve security at home and abroad.
With over 250 individual members and over 300 sustaining members representing some 70+ companies, SAME Honolulu is one of the largest Posts in the nation. Some of the activities the Honolulu Post conducts include regular educational lunch programs, industry forums, scholarship golf tournaments, networking events, and small business outreach activities. Through these events, SAME Honolulu connects top engineering officials from the public and private sector, builds relationships between the military and private sector, provides education through SAME’s diverse Continuing Education Program, and allows for invaluable networking opportunities between our membership.
To promote and facilitate engineering support for national security by developing and enhancing relationships and competencies among uniformed services, public- and private-sector engineers and related professionals, and by developing future engineers through outreach and mentoring.
