A Place Called Home
A Place Called Home is a dynamic community center and safe haven in South Central Los Angeles where underserved youth 8-21 years old are empowered to take ownership of the quality and direction of their lives through programs in education, arts, and well-being. APCH provides support and opportunities that increase the likelihood that young people will stay in school, go on to higher education and viable jobs, and make a meaningful difference in their communities and the world.
Music and recording are key components of the organization's program offering, and the APCH youth band performs and records on a regular basis. "Connecting our young members to professionals in the music and recording industry has turned out to be a big win for all concerned," says APCH Executive Director Jonathan Zeichner, "and we are moved and grateful to be named as the beneficiary of this year's Recording Industry Golf Tournament."

APCH's Music Program
The Music program exposes kids to the history, theory and creation of music through music appreciation and instrumentation classes. APCH is honored to be part of the Berklee City Music Program from Berklee College in Boston, utilizing the proven Berklee PULSE technique to teach our youth. As part of this program, APCH youth learn theory, instrumentation and studio engineering.
When they are ready, our young musicians are able to perform and share their musical talents at events throughout Los Angeles. Our talented musicians have opened for the Black Eyed Peas, performed with the Isley Brothers and much more. Come down and watch these kids unleash their talents or pick up a CD from the APCH store and be amazed!
