Their Eyes Have Seen the Glory:  Art of the Civil War

with Stephen May

In this fully-illustrated slide lecture, Stephen May examines how the American Civil War and its aftermath were depicted by painters, sculptors and photographers on both sides of the conflict.

Among the Maine artists featured are painters Winslow Homer, Eastman Johnson and sculptor Franklin Simmons.  Stephen May is an independent writer and historian who combines a lifelong interest in American history with a passion for Civil War art.
