2013 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project Closing Ceremonies
Friday, October 11, 2013 from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM (EDT)
Staten Island, NY
You are invited to join us for the Closing Ceremonies of the 2013 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project! This special ceremony is open to registered build volunteers, Habitat NYC volunteers, donors, friends and community members.
The ceremonies will take place on Friday October 11th from 4:30 to 7:00pm at the Richmond County Bank Ballpark, home of the Staten Island Yankees. During the event, volunteers will be addressed by former President Jimmy Carter, Habitat for Humanity International CEO Jonathan Reckford, and Habitat for Humanity New York City CEO Neil Hetherington. Volunteers will also enjoy food, drinks, live entertainment from local groups, and a video of the week’s build on the jumbotron. Fireworks will end the night and close out a week of building homes and building hope!
The ceremony is casual as volunteers and President Carter will be joining us directly from their build sites.
All local volunteers can access the ballpark by car, bus, or Staten Island Ferry.
Directions to the ballpark
The Richmond County Bank Ballpark is located on the northeastern tip of Staten Island at 75 Richmond Terrace. It is easily accessible by mass transit. If you must drive, please consult the parking options below.
Take the 1 or R train to Whitehall-South Ferry and board the Staten Island Ferry directly outside the subway exit. Or take the 4 or 5 train to Bowling Green and walk to the Staten Island Ferry terminal. The SI Ferry will drop you off at the St. George Terminal in Staten Island and the ball park is located right next to the terminal.
If you are visiting by car, there are parking lots that can be accessed on Bank Street next to the ballpark and Staten Island Ferry.
The Whitehall Terminal is also accessible by the M5, M15 SBS and M20 bus routes.
Thank you for participating in the 2013 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project and enjoy the ceremony!
