Every year, Leadership Rhode Island brings graduates together from the Core Program and College Leadership Rhode Island with members of the greater Rhode Island community to honor our state's most inspiring leaders with the Annual Inspiring Leaders Awards Luncheon.*
Awards will be presented to inspiring leaders selected in the following categories:
David E Sweet Award to Neil Steinberg (LRI '91) of Rhode Island Foundation
The ideals David Sweet embraced in his leadership roles were ones of service, dedication and a deeply held commitment to the community. He led by positive example and immense compassion for others, and worked diligently to make a difference. David Sweet personified the spirit of leadership. This award recognizes an outstanding Leadership Rhode Island alum who has demonstrated his or her commitment to the community, either personally, through the allocation of resources, or by inspiring others to serve the community.
The Rhode Island Community Service Award to Kobi Dennis of Project Night Vision
The Rhode Island Community Service Award recognizes an outstanding individual in our state whose extraordinary vision, commitment and leadership have made a significant impact upon our community.
The LRI Volunteer Award to Carol Young (LRI '92)
The Leadership Rhode Island Volunteer Award recognizes an outstanding volunteer contribution to Leadership Rhode Island. Service may take many forms, such as committee work, board service, fund raising, or program assistance.
The Emerging Leader Award to Ysanet Batista of Johnson & Wales University
The Emerging Leader Award recognizes an outstanding young person whose vision, dedication, and leadership qualities have inspired others to take action to create community change.
