2013 Indie Memphis Film Festival

With a focus on regional filmmaking, the Indie Memphis Film Festival brings a broad range of dynamic and engaging independent features, documentaries and short films to Memphis from all corners of the country. Now entering its 16th year, the festival has been ranked by MovieMaker Magazine as one of the "25 Coolest Film Festivals" and as a "Film Festival Worth the Entry Fee," and named a "Top 20 Event" by the Southeast Tourism Society.
Presented by Duncan-Williams, Inc., the 2013 festival is set to take place October 31 - November 3 on five screens at the Playhouse on the Square, The Circuit Playhouse and Malco Theatre's Studio on the Square, all located in and around Midtown' Overton Square. The festival lineup won't be announced until October, but films from the last couple of years have included of Undefeated and Silver Linings Playbook months before they opened theatrically, as well as the US Premiere of Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me and the World Premiere of Antenna about the famed Memphis rock club.

If you can only be with us for a day, we will begin selling a one-day Daytripper Pass for $20. For those who just want to see one film, a limited number of $15 Priority Tickets for individual films will be available for front-of-line admission when the schedule is finalized.

Members also get free addmission to Southern Circuit screenings, like How To Make A Movie At Home on Sept. 18, Birth of the Living Dead on Oct. 16, and GMO OMG on Nov. 20, and a special Alloy Orchestra silent film performance on Oct. 10!

Through diverse year-round programming, a world-class annual festival, and ongoing efforts to include new voices, new media, and new audiences, Indie Memphis is an ArtsMemphis funded 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which enriches, inspires, and connects the Memphis community while cultivating interest in, and development of, independent film.
The year-round organization is best known for its annual Indie Memphis Film Festival presented by Duncan-Williams, Inc., next taking place October 30 - November 2, 2014 in and around midtown Memphis' Overton Square entertainment district. Screening venues include the Playhouse on the Square, The Circuit Playhouse, the new Hattiloo Theatre, and three screens at Malco Theatre’s Studio on the Square – all within just a few blocks of each other, creating an accessible community-friendly atmosphere unlike any other on the festival circuit. Named one of “50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee” in the spring 2014 issue of MovieMaker magazine, the Indie Memphis Film Festival was named a “Top 20 Event” by the Southeast Tourism Society in 2012. MovieMaker also ranked the festival as “Worth the Entry Fee” in 2011, 2013 and 2014, and as one of their “25 Coolest Film Festivals” in 2009.
