You are cordially invited to the 2013 Immunization Symposium on Wednesday, October 23rd, 2013 from 4:30-9:00 pm at The Waterfront Restaurant and Tavern, La Crosse.
People in the United States continue to get diseases that are vaccine preventable. Vaccines are among the most cost-effective clinical preventive services and are a core component of any preventive services package. Communities with pockets of unvaccinated and under-vaccinated populations are at increased risk for outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases. The mission of the Coulee Region Immunization Coalition is to increase immunization rates in our community to protect the public from vaccine-preventable diseases. In support of the Healthy People 2020 initiative to increase vaccine coverage in all age groups, the Coulee Region Immunization Coalition offers continuing education for all persons who administer and promote immunizations in the region by hosting an annual immunization symposium.
To provide a forum for healthcare workers in the La Crosse region to learn about the recent recommendations from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and emerging immunization issues, with focus on 1) influenza and 2) dealing with vaccination hesitancy.
