Event Details

2013 Full Steam Ahead Awards presented by WRALTechWire.comJoin us for the second annual Full Steam Ahead Awards, presented by WRALTechWire.com!

On Thursday, Oct. 24, we invite you to join us at one of downtown Durham's finest startups, Fullsteam, as we return for another round to honor some of the best and brightest tech businesses in the Triangle area and their successes over the past year.

Fullsteam is a Durham, North Carolina production brewery and tavern inspired by the food and farm traditions of the South. Their mission: to pioneer the art of Distinctly Southern Beer. Fullsteam brews traditional and experimental beers with a Southern sensibility, often incorporating local farmed goods, heirloom grains, and seasonal botanicals to guide their beer and its quest.

We couldn't think of a better time and place to raise a glass to our industry than a Thursday evening over a pint of local brew. We hope to see you there and encourage you to bring as many friends and colleagues as you would like.

We'll start at 5:30 p.m. with the opportunity to network with WRALTechWire.com editor Rick Smith, our TechWire Insider contributors, and others in the local tech seen. Our awards program will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will wrap up by 7:30 p.m. If you're so inclined, stick stick around for Fullsteam Trivia at 8:30 p.m.!

Handy Information: Fullsteam signature pints are $5 and pitchers are $18. The current best-sellers right now are the Hula Hoop Rye IPA and Cackalacky Ginger Pale Ale. The first 50 attendees to R.S.V.P. to this event are going to enjoy a free pint of their choice, courtesy of our sponsors!

October 21, 2013 Update: Bob Cotter, founder and CEO of Organic Transit in Durham, will bring one of the company's pedal-electric powered vehicles known as the ELF. Interested attendees can take the ELF for a test ride-pedal-and-drive!
