Today more than 5 million people have Alzheimer's. To increase awareness, Joshua and Elmo Jackson Kuumba Project in conjunction with Wilson’s Training will be hosting the 3rd Annual 5k Run/Walk in uptown Thomasville on Saturday, September 21, 2013 @ 8a. Alzheimer’s is a disease that results in the loss of brain cells. It is the most common form of dementia, which is a group of brain disorders that cause confusion and problems with memory, thinking and reasoning.
Alzheimer’s is not a part of normal aging. There is no cure, and there is no single test to diagnose it. Alzheimer’s gets worse over time. However, there are treatments and medications available to help ease symptoms and we need you!
This event offers families throughout the Thomasville community the opportunity to come together and experience our great uptown while supporting a cause so dear to my heart.
Thomasville Medical Center (TMC) has signed on as our title sponsor. By joining TMC, Piedmont Crossings and Carolina Memorial Baptist Church by participating in the Fall Breeze 5K Run/Walk, you'll be supporting a great organization that helps many families just like mine when my mother was fighting Alzheimer’s. Although Mama lost her fight on May 31, 2004, her legacy lives on. There are many organizations fundraising for worthy causes, but I hope that you will participate in the Fall Breeze 5k Run/Walk so that we can contribute to the Alzheimer’s Association and assist them in continuing to stay at the forefront of Alzheimer’s treatments and medications.
Please sign up now! Get your teams together and Let's Walk/Run to end Alzheimer's!!!
If you can't join us by running/walking, please consider making a tax-deductible donation!!
