Julianne Malveaux

Racial & Cultural Economics Expert

12-2:00 p.m.  |  Ingle Auditorium

Dr. Julianne Malveaux is the former President of Bennett College for Women. Recognized for her progressive and insightful observations she is also an economist, author,  and commentator, and has been described by Dr. Cornel West as “the most iconoclastic public intellectual in the country.” Dr. Malveaux’s contributions to the public dialogue on issues such as race, culture, gender, and their economic impacts, are shaping public opinion in 21st century America.

Performance of
The Meeting

4:00 p.m.  |   Robert F. Panara Theatre at NTID

Fascinating and dramatically compelling, this eloquent play depicts the supposed meeting of two of the most important men of modern times: Malcolm X and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Differing in their philosophies, but alike in their mutual respect, the two men debate their varying approaches to the same grave social problems, both prepared to die for their beliefs but neither aware of how soon their assassins' bullets would await them.

"An exciting and provocative play, an unforgettable evening of drama." —NY Post.

"Stirring moments of impassioned rhetoric you feel as if you've watched a kind of human-scale wrestling with angels." —San Francisco Examiner.

3 Mo' Tenors

7:00 p.m.  |  Ingle Auditorium

THREE MO’ TENORS showcases the extraordinary versatility of African-American tenors. It starts with classical opera and goes on to feature seven more musical styles that span four hundred years of music — all in one entertaining evening.

THREE MO’ TENORS is about more than just three men. It is a story about the history and the future of exceptional Black tenors who deserve to be heard.
