Wood Island Light Cruise

Wood Island, a 32-acre uninhabited island at the mouth of the Saco River near Biddeford, ME is an active bird sanctuary hosting a wide variety of birds and wildlife.  You'll step back in time as trained guides enlighten you about the island's history, its buildings, the 42-foot stone light tower and the keepers who were stationed there.

This cruise departs from Vine's Landing in Biddeford Pool and is subject to weather and sea conditions.  Attendees should meet at Vine's Landing; the nearest GPS address is 1 Lester B. Orcutt Blvd, Biddeford Pool, ME  04006.

This is a physically-active trip, and guests should be prepared with appropriate footwear and clothing, bug spray, sunscreen, etc.   There are ramps to negotiate to disembark on the island.  It is a .5 mile walk to the lighthouse over elevated boardwalks.  This is not a handicap accessible trip and strollers are not allowed.

More information on access to Wood Island

Tickets are non-refundable, except in the event of a weather cancellation.    This cruise may be cancelled in the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions or unmet minimum ticket sales, and cancellations are made by the Captain on the day of the cruise.  If the Museum cancels a cruise, you will have the opportunity to reschedule, or receive a refund.
