Purpose

To educate healthcare professionals, teachers, school administrators and parents on the meditation practice with children and the benefits derived.

Conference Fee

$40 includes breakfast, lunch, healthy snacks, conference materials and parking.

Continuing Education Credits

Baptist Health is approved as a continuing education provider by the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling. Provider #850. Expires March 2015. Approved for 4 CEUs.


Keynote Speakers


Ernie Christie
Author of “Coming Home: A Guide to Teaching Christian Meditation to Children”

A teacher and headmaster in Australia for 28 years, Ernie Christie is currently Deputy Director of the Catholic Education Office for the Diocese of Townsville, Australia, where he successfully implemented the practice of Christian meditation in all Catholic schools in the Diocese. His book “Coming Home: A Guide to Teaching Christian Meditation in Children,” helps train teachers in delivering this ancient practice into the classroom with excellent and inspiring results. He holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Education and a master’s degree in Theology.

Catherine Day, PhD
Director of the Catholic Education Office, Diocese of Townsville, Australia

A teacher and principal in Australia for 24 years, it was under Dr. Day’s leadership that the Townsville Catholic Education Office implemented the world-first Christian meditation program for all Catholic schools in the Diocese. Dr. Day has a bachelor’s degree in Education, a graduate diploma in Christian Leadership and a doctorate degree in Education.

Michael De La Hunt, MD, MHS
Medical Director of Pediatric Mental Health Services at Wolfson Children’s Hospital
Chief, Psychology and Psychiatry Division, Nemours Children’s Clinic, Jacksonville, FL

Dr. De La Hunt is a child and adolescent psychiatrist who earned his Master of Health Science from The Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health before graduating from medical school at the University of Minnesota. Dr. De La Hunt completed his residency at Brown University.
