2013 Baseball Industry Network Baseball Winter Meetings Morning Meet-Up
Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM (EST)
Lake Buena Vista, FL
Well, it’s that time again. As many of you embark for Orlando, Florida next week for the Baseball Winter Meetings at Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Hotel, please be sure to join us again for our annual Baseball Industry Network Baseball Winter Meetings Morning Meet-Up on Tuesday, December 10th from 7 am to 8:30 am in the Dolphin Hotel Lobby Lounge (third level). This has become a great annual tradition for the Baseball Industry Network to bring together our members for a bit of networking and also helping out a good cause in the process. The Dolphin Lobby Lounge has a café there which will allow our members to network and mingle over coffee or morning treat.
This year we have the great fortune to help a local cause in the form of the Orlando Monarchs baseball program, a program created by Rickie Weeks, Sr. Mr. Weeks, whose sons Rickie (MIL) and Jemile (recently acquired from OAK by BAL) currently play in the major leagues, created the Orlando Monarchs baseball program to provide more opportunities for kids wishing to pursue the game. The Orlando Monarchs have a two-prong method to help kids play our great game: (1) the Monarchs run a team in the Florida Collegiate Summer League that attracts players from historically black colleges and universities (HBCU’s) and (2) the Monarchs have created Jackie Robinson Youth Baseball Camps that helps inner city kids ages 7-19 year-round in exposing them to the game of baseball with quality instruction and the teaching of educational and life skills that will help them down the road as they become young adults. The Orlando Monarchs are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that tries to enrich our young children’s lives through the game of baseball. You can read more about the Orlando Monarchs by going to www.orlandomonarchsbaseball.com.
There is no cost to attend the morning meet-up but I am asking our members and attendees like in past years to make a generous donation ($5-$20) which will be earmarked for the Orlando Monarchs program. For convenience and since space is limited, please RSVP by the end of the day on Monday, December 9th.

When & Where
Baseball Industry Network
The Baseball Industry Network is a networking group open to individuals working in and/or connected to the baseball industry. The group covers the full gamut of people working throughout the game (executives and staff at the major league and minor league level, MLB employees, scouts, coaches, agents, baseball writers and bloggers, baseball related manufacturers and equipment companies, current and former professional players, etc.). Industry professionals are encouraged to network with fellow professionals and share their experiences working in the game of baseball with those trying to break into the industry. One of the goals of the network is to educate and potentially develop mentoring relationships between those currently in the industry with individuals attempting to either advance within or enter the industry. The Baseball Industry Network can be located at www.baseballindustrynetwork.com or on LinkedIn at www.linkedin.com.
