What you learn in these 7 sessions could change your life! 

Step by step, this class will help guide you how to find a job if you are unemployed or anticipating a career transition. Our Crossroads "Crash" Course for Career Transition is based upon the "2012 Workbook" and the "6-Steps Small Group Series" developed by Crossroads Career Network (for more information, see www.crossroadscareer.org). This course is sponsored by an interdenominational group of Northside Atlanta churches, all members of Crossroads Career Network.

You may have heard about our program from a colleague, from your church or from one of your networking contacts. Or you may have read about it in the Atlanta Journal and Constitution - found online at: http://www.ajc.com/news/lifestyles/crash-course-in-career-transition/nQfdc/.


We have assembled a team of expert facilitators -- leaders in career ministry programs at area churches, all experienced both in business and in helping others learn effective ways to search for new career opportunities! Many have also been unemployed before and understand the challenges you are facing.  You will find more information about our Crash Course Team, instructors and facilitators if you continue to scroll down.   You will find a brief bio on each and a link to their LinkedIn page.  

The $40 course tuition covers our direct costs of offering this program (online career assessments, printed materials, credit card processing) and scholarships for those unable to pay for the course. Our volunteers are not compensated, and facilities are provided by our sponsoring church. No one profits but you! (This course is an exceptional value.  If you were to purchase the online career assessment individually, the cost for the assessment alone would be $80, twice your cost for this entire course!)

·Attendance at ALL 7 sessions is required, this is not a "drop-in" class
·Several hours of outside preparation for each session will be required for the course.
·You will need a computer with internet access to complete the outside assignments.
·Please register only if you agree to complete the outside work and attend all sessions.

                          WHO CAN ATTEND?                               

This class is open to EVERYONE. This program is provided by Crossroads Career Network member churches and volunteers committed to service to others. There is an emphasis on Christian beliefs in our class, but regardless of your faith you will benefit from this class.  You do not have to be a member of these churches (or of any church) to attend.  You are welcome to the career ministry programs and all activities at any of these churches.

If this month's class is full, add your name to the waitlist. We'll let you know if we can accommodate you and if not, you will receive information on future classes.

If you cannot afford the class, do not register now, and let us know by email.  We can offer tuition assistance based upon your level of need (full tuition assistance for those not working and who have no resources available; partial tuition assistance for those who can pay part of the class tuition).  If you are able to pay for this class, please do so in order to allow others to attend; tuition assistance is limited.

Here are brief biographies on our class facilitators, hosts and team:

Judi Adams- Owner of RightChanges.biz, and author of the 2012 book Found a Job Yet? and Other Questions NOT to Ask  Judi is a 20 veteran of the IT industry and began coaching  job seekers in 2002 following an eight month job transition of her own. During that job transition she discovered how much the job market had changed and the successful approach to landing that next job. She founded RightChanges in February of 2009 and 100% of RightChanges’ clients who completed the personal coaching series are now employed in jobs they wanted. She is an active member in ICF and the Georgia Coach Association.  Judi often publishes job search articles that are read worldwide and is a frequent keynote speaker.  http://www.linkedin.com/in/rightchanges

Rich von Biberstein – A 20+ year veteran in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, his expertise focuses on Sales, Business Development and Business Intelligence. As an outreach, Rich volunteers as a job networking group facilitator with Intown Community Church. Having experienced two job search campaigns in his career, Rich understands the daily grind of the job search process and works with others to develop successful strategies to gain employment. He firmly believes that there are many different paths to landing a new job, but networking remains the consistent tool that helps expedite the search. Gary Davis - With 30 years of experience in the technology industry, Gary’s experience includes channel sales and marketing, international sales, corporate marketing and management. Gary is President of CMIT Solutions of Atlanta/North Perimeter, a provider of business-class IT services.  Gary is an active member of Dunwoody UMC, a member of the Chancel Choir and began leading the career ministry at Dunwoody UMC as a volunteer in September of 2001. He has taught Step 4 (Searching) and Step 6 (Selection) of the Crossroads Explorer course and has also conducted workshops on LinkedIn in addition to having experience in coaching individuals on employment and career issues. http://www.linkedin.com/in/cgarydavis

Chris Gilliam - Chris has contributed her skills in professional development, training, coaching and career services for over 30 years. Experienced in corporate management and consulting, she designed and implemented a wide variety of seminars, performance management systems and coaching programs. Chris is owner of the Gilliam Group and provides career coaching services to individuals in transistion. Professional affiliations include working for Right Management as a Career Consultant providing career transition services to spouses of transferred employees; and with The Drake House as Career Coach assisting women to secure full-time employment to regain financial independence. Chris is certified as an Online Networking Strategist and certified in the Birkman Method Assessment and Targeted Selection Behavioral Interviewing Methodology. She is a registered Corporate Coach and in training for certification as a Christian Career Management Coach. Chris is a member and Stephen Minister at Northbroook UMC in Roswell GA. Randall Lucius - Randy is Vice President of Turknett Leadership Group and Director of the Human Performance Division. He has over 15 years of consulting experience in executive assessment and coaching, job analysis, competency modeling, employee selection, litigation support, performance management, 360 degree feedback, personality assessment and leadership development. His consulting experience includes a wide range of clients, including Fortune 500, government and non-profit. With a PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Georgia, Randy has prior experience working in both corporate HR and academics. He co-authored Fitability 5, a personality-based assessment administered to more than a quarter-million individuals and co-founded Organizational Diagnostics Online. A licensed psychologist, he has served as an adjunct faculty member at Oglethorpe University. Randy has been a leader in the Dunwoody UMC career ministry for the past 9 years. 

Mike Salet - Having spent over 20 years in the IT Search industry as an independent recruiter, career counselor and recruiting business owner, Mike has accumulated a wide spectrum of job search expertise with which to help job seekers find the job they desire. Mike’s expertise includes a thorough understanding of the Crossroads Career Network, and the Crossroads 6 Step, faith based process, the creation of strategic marketing and branding materials, pre-interview preparation and interview techniques, effective job offer negotiation methods and more. David Sheffield – A senior-level accounting and finance professional with over 25 years of diverse experience, is currently CFO for an Atlanta technology firm. David has personally experienced God’s leading through several career transitions and now shares those experiences with others through the Crossroads Career Explorer workshop ministry at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta GA, where he also serves as a deacon. David has facilitated the Crossroads Six Steps Workshop, Maximizing Your Career in Turbulent Times, for four years at Johnson Ferry. In these workshops participants are encouraged to hear and follow God’s calling in their careers, based on Ephesians 2:10, “[You] are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that [you] would walk in them.” David resides with his family in Marietta  GA. http://www.linkedin.com/in/davidsheffield

MaryAnne Sirotko-Turner - A member of the Church of the Apostles, she has co-led the Crossroads Career Network program for the last four years. Her professional career includes 15 years with Fortune 100 companies such as The Coca-Cola Company and American Express. MaryAnne left the Coca-Cola National Accounts team to spend the next 5+ years leading sales and negotiation training for Coca-Cola throughout the Americas, Asia, and Europe. In 2006 she launched her own training, coaching, and consulting practice. Her credentials include BA from Michigan State, MPA from The City University of New York, Certified Master Trainer, Certified Performance Consultant, and a Six Sigma Green Belt. C. J. (“Buck”) Trayser - A seasoned technology and learning systems project manager during the “regular” 9-to-5 workday, Buck also volunteers his time as a Ministry Leader at one of the Crossroads Career Network member churches where he specializes in resume reviews, helping others develop networking skills and lecturing on effective Internet job search methods. He spends countless hours combing the various Internet job boards, resume pools and social networking sites in an effort to gain a first-hand view of the current job market and job search challenges. C. J. is a member of the Association of Online Résumé and Career Professionals (AORCP) where he is currently working on his resume writer certification. Professionally he's an adjunct professor teaching college courses online and is working on his doctoral dissertation that focuses on Social Networking technologies. Jeff Westerberg- After serving as a Captain in the US Air Force and having a successful corporate areer with Richardson-Vicks, Proctor & Gamble and the Coca-Cola Co., Jeff moved into retained executive search. Jeff opened Westerberg & Associates, Inc. in 1995, and has placed over 130 individuals. With extensive management experience, his search practice includes consulting, coaching, sales training and his focus is on developing high performance teams. He works across a wide range of industries, including consumer products, manufacturing, information and financial services, food service, advertising, transportation and churches. Jeff has been involved with Crossroads Career Network since its inception and currently leads the CRN at Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta. Jim Yates – An experienced human resources professional with more than 25 years as a leader in the delivery of human resources services, Jim has experience in a broad array of industries and has worked in both union and non-union HR environments.  Jim’s specialty areas include employee relations, talent management, training & development and executive coaching.  Jim is currently Director of Human Resources for Assurant and has held similar positions for major companies including E*Trade, IKON and MCI.  Jim is active in the Career Ministry at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta. http://www.linkedin.com/in/jimyates

North Atlanta Crossroads

"North Atlanta Crossroads" is a group of volunteers from a network of interdenominational churches in North and Northwest Atlanta. Each church is a member of the Crossroads Career Network, and their volunteer career ministry teams are working together to offer a series of "crash courses" to help kick-start a job search for those who are unemployed or considering a career transition.
