2012 WASLA Conference

Thursday March 29, 2012  7:00 am to 6:30 pm
Lynnwood Convention Center

Featuring a product expo and evening reception.

Join us for lively explorations and discussions of:

  • Back to Basics — From interns to seasoned practitioners, what are the new fundamentals of working in the 21st century?
  • Sustainable Design — Current trends in theories, techniques and products to use in the landscape.
  • Leading in Collaboration — How are landscape architects leading multi-disciplinary teams and can we become better partners in the design process?
  • International Design — Landscape Architecture practices are shifting from traditionally stateside projects to increasingly more international work and office branches. Is this shift a current economic trend or the future of our discipline and how is it affecting the way we work and design?
  • Stormwater Management and Wetlands — Looking at bioretention, constructed and restored wetlands and innovative approaches to stormwater management.
  • Urban Design — What are the latest trends and issues in the design of the urban environment? How is landscape architecture working to make our cities more livable?
  • Multi-modal Design — With Seattle’s current war between cars and bicycles how are landscape architects shaping the needs of all transportation users and how do pedestrians factor into the equation?

All eligible sessions will be registered in the LA CES database and will allow participants to earn up to eight Professional Development Hours.

Follow us at www.wasla.org for details on specific conference offerings.

In the event of registration cancellation, refunds less a $25 administrative fee will be available through March 22. No refund will be available after that date. Substitutions are welcome.
