The number of parks throughout Philadelphia will increase dramatically on September 21 when Park(ing) Day comes to town! Park(ing) Day is an international event when activists, artists, architects, and others transform metered parking spaces into temporary public places, re-imagine the possibilities of 170 square feet of public space, and raise awareness about the need for more pedestrian-friendly spaces in our urban areas.
Visit the parklets through the day across Philadelphia and join us in the evening to celebrate the designers of these innovative parks and public spaces.
Cover charge: $10 General / $5 Collaborative members / Free to Park(ing) Day teams / Donations gladly accepted
Hosted by the Community Design Collaborative in partnership with the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission and the Philadelphia Mayor’s Office of Transportation and Utilities.
