2012 OAITA 5th Annual Convention
Monday, August 13, 2012 at 8:30 AM (EDT)
Join your fellow real estate professional leaders for a full day of networking and education like you've never seen before! Become better informed on the latest developments in the title insurance and mortgage industry, earn CE/CLE credits and collaborate with colleagues and other industry experts. Plus, a lunch is included.
Over one hundred independent title insurance agents will gather at our convention to discuss important policy issues affecting the title insurance industry. These individuals represent some of the best and most established title insurance agencies across Ohio. Our members are small business owners who come from every corner of Ohio and believe in the importance of sound policy to help protect their businesses and their policyholders.
This year, we are scheduled to have Rick Campbell, President of the Ohio Recorders Association and current Stark County, Ohio Recorder talk about modernizing Ohio’s land title records and Nick Chuceles from the Ohio Department of Commerce to discuss the problems associated with mortgage fraud in Ohio. Robert Curry, Partner, Thompson Hine, LLP, will be speaking as a guest of the Ohio State Bar Association and providing attendees with a case law update on every conceivable issue relative to real estate and title insurance, as well as Roger Rill, president of the Ohio Society of Notaries speaking on proper notary certificates, notarization procedures, and best practices. You will not want to miss these discussions!
There will once again be a pre-conference hospitality suite gathering on Sunday night at 8:00pm, August 12, 2012 and plenty of networking opportunities. Members, exhibitors, sponsors and guests are encouraged to join us at the reception.
