It's back. The 2012 edition of the Sprinter Campus Fun Run (yes, you can also walk) will take place on homecoming Saturday, October 13. The 1 mile course weaves through the beautiful MLC campus and offers you an opportunity to get together with friends, get some exercise, and enjoy a refreshing start to a full, fall day of activity.
Participants will be eligible to win one of many door prizes from community sponsors (including $25 gift cards from Cash Wise and the MLC Bookstore). The registration and fun run start will take place at the Sprinter statue (celebrating its 100th birthday this October)! Sprinter is located by the southeast entrance to the gymnasium near the chapel.
There is no cost to participate and all are invited. However, you must register in advance to be eligible for door prizes or to purchase a t-shirt. This year's shirt will be royal blue and will feature the Sprinter and his fellow racers sprinting past the Sprinter statue (see below). T-shirt cost for adults is $8 and children (17 and under) pay just $6 (even if they wear adult sizes).
Those on campus may register and pay locally (watch for sign up sheets and listen for chapel announcements). Others must sign up (and pay with credit card if buying a shirt) via this webpage.brating his 100th birthday this October!). All participants should plan to arrive between 8:30 and 8:50 to sign in. Door prizes will be drawn at 8:50 sharp (must be pre-registered, present, and signed in to win). Upon completion of the race, stick around for free bottled water, light snacks, and a host of other fun activities (see the MLC website for the full slate of activities).
The course is flat and family friendly (strollers & wagons welcome). The map below shows the exact route. There are some grassy areas, but no steps.
