The Tragedy of Macbeth

Principal Cast: Hal Fowler, Hannah Taylor Gordon, Marek Oravec,
WE ARE YET BUT YOUNG INDEED…
This bold new feature version of Shakespeare’s most notorious play is both a love story and a gripping psychological thriller : the rise of two young people who will stop at nothing to live the dream – at any cost.
Filmed entirely on location in the Austrian Alps, featuring an international cast, starring Marek Oravec and Golden Globe nominee Hannah Taylor Gordon. The Tragedy of Macbeth is a ground breaking new screen adaptation. This is a tale of the recklessness of youth, the passion and misunderstandings of two impossibly glamorous celebrities of their time. Their intoxicating passion, wild ambition, unquestioning faith in what they are told, and the headlong pursuit of the future to which they feel bound and the glittering prizes which they believe they deserve. This is a contemporary morality tale, a story of hope squandered, of gullibility, of misplaced trust, and of the seductive allure of success, and one man's final reconciliation with the truth.
What they’re saying:
"Amazing, perplexing and astonishing..." Janus Avivson -- SHOOTING PEOPLE
"This is a fantastic version of Macbeth... The film is fast paced and kept me hooked throughout, combining traditional costume and setting with modern music, to enhance the suspense and horror of the play. This is a brilliant film from Daniel Coll which I thoroughly recommend." "...a fantastic version of Macbeth, my favorite Shakespeare play, and this film does it more than justice." Alex and Chippy --- AMAZON UK
"My students really appreciated several features of this new version of Macbeth - Hal Fowler's performance as Macduff was incredibly powerful..." Test Screening --- Teacher -- CANADA
"The film is pacey and intense... Marek and Hannah bring a fresh and youthful passion to The Tragedy of Macbeth, as the glamorous, yet tragic couple with their electrically charged on-screen chemistry." Gabrielle Pike --- FARNHAM LIFE MAGAZINE
Note: Q&A will follow screening with filmmmakers in attendance.
The LA INDIE Film Festival is the partner festival to the well established LA COMEDY Festival, www.LAComedyFest.com. Over the years we have had the privilege to work with hundreds of filmmakers who have told wonderfully funny stories. Many have gone on to make great films in other genres.
This made us think how wonderful it would be to showcase all the terrific stories that are being told in film, in all the different, creative ways in which they are being told.
We are very excited to present the 5th LA INDIE Film Festival.
