What they’re saying:
“Using deftly improvised dialogue, ‘Dreamworld’ features an intimate view of the painful distinctions to be made between dreams and reality.” -- Ashland Independent Film Festival
“The performances were great – Hertford has a great face for wounded sincerity.” -- The Daily City
“Directed with artfulness and an easygoing affectation by newcomer Ryan Darst...” -- Orlando Weekly
“…manages to bring losers of epic proportion together and make us want them to triumph through all that they do to each other and themselves. An amazing cast led by Whit Hertford (who also wrote and produced) & Mary Kate Wiles (who turns a stereotype into an archetype) gives the script the right balance of dreaminess and weight.” -- Florida Film Festival
“Hertford and Wiles are charming and the chemistry radiates on screen.” -- Newport Beach Film Festival
“It’s the little things in this movie that make it great to watch. Great transitions between dialog and soundtrack, intimate camera work showing off the actors’ expressions, and unexpected moments where the supporting cast gets a chance to shine and make all the characters in the story pop out as three dimensional.”

Accompanied by her wild-at-heart tambourine-playing bandmate, Annika, she sets out on a real-world Thelma and Louise-style adventure, with a plan for survival that's a no holds-barred rebuttal to traditional buttoned-down business. The two women promote their strolling band from town to town with spur-of-the moment concerts, hustling CDs on unsuspecting locals, and befriending and inspiring new fans all across America.
Note: Q&A will follow screening with filmmmakers in attendance.
The LA INDIE Film Festival is the partner festival to the well established LA COMEDY Festival, www.LAComedyFest.com. Over the years we have had the privilege to work with hundreds of filmmakers who have told wonderfully funny stories. Many have gone on to make great films in other genres.
This made us think how wonderful it would be to showcase all the terrific stories that are being told in film, in all the different, creative ways in which they are being told.
We are very excited to present the 4th LA INDIE Film Festival.
