Before I get to other questions, let me answer the one everybody asks first.
Tickets go on sale July 11th, and prices start at $50.
Tickets (on sale starting July 11)
There will be a total of 1,000 tickets available (900+ of which will be priced at $50). There will also be about a hundred “bracketed” tickets that include extras like lunch and a separate dinner with the BigAndroidBBQ staff.
Tickets will be available for about 60 days, or until they sell out. Tickets are non-refundable, as they have been in the past, but we will accommodate transfers when we deem them appropriate. There will be no transfers after September 19th.
Speakers & Sessions
The big news is that we will be hosting almost three times as many sessions as we have previously. We will also provide a better environment for giving talks (indoors, AC, Projectors, etc.). We have pushed really hard to get community members involved, along with participation from sponsors.
If you would like to make a presentation, please let us know. We have filled up more than half the available slots, but there are still some spaces available if you would like to speak or lead a session. Just make sure you fill out this form before it’s too late.
We’re really impressed with the speakers we have already selected and with the topics they will discuss. People like Mark Murphy, Mat Abdou, Jon Hancock and more have come up with captivating topics, ranging from working with smart watches and the latest versions of Android to dissecting in app-billing and subscription models. We even have a session for our BBQ loving attendees where you can learn the secretes of our own expert BBQ chef. In coming weeks, we will announce a full lineup of speakers, as well as details about their talks.
We understand that each of the three hotels still has plenty of rooms available in the BigAndroidBBQ blocks. The cut-off date for the BigAndroidBBQ rate is September 19. If you are staying for the entire conference, you’ll want to book rooms for the nights of October 19th through the 21st. Each hotel has free wifi as well as continental breakfast for those sober enough to eat.
