2011 Tierce Riesling Release Party
Saturday, July 6, 2013 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM (EDT)
Penn Yan, NY
The highly anticipated launch of the 2011 Tierce Dry Riesling is here! The celebration will highlight three cool-climate vineyards, three winemakers and one remarkable wine. Tierce Dry Riesling represents a collaboration between Anthony Road Wine Company, Fox Run Vineyards and Red Newt Cellars – integrating not only the varying vineyard expressions of Seneca Lake, but also the individual philosophies of the winemakers.
Peter Bell (Fox Run), Johannes Reinhardt (Anthony Road) and David Whiting (Red Newt) have peered through the prism of cool-climate terroir to produce Tierce. Drawing from three distinct winegrowing subregions of Seneca Lake, this Riesling offers complexities and nuances that set it apart from all others – making it uniquely Finger Lakes.
Mingle with the "Tierce Brothers" and enjoy three unique tasting courses throughout the evening. Guests will be welcomed with the 2010 Tierce that was served at the Presidental Inaugural Luncheon in Washington D.C. in January. The Official Welcome will start at 7:15PM with an interesting tasting of the separate 2011 Tierce Dry Riesling varietal components. Only then will the 2011 Tierce be poured. The event will have the 2011 Tierce available for purchase and time for the three winemakers to autograph bottles.
Each tasting is being paired with a wonderful selection of passed hors d’oeuvres by Chef Samantha Buyskes. There will also be an "FLX Board" of local cheeses, charcuterie, and seasonal accompaniments as well as housemade cookies and coffee. The event emcee is Evan Dawson, author of Summer in a Glass: The Coming of Age of Winemaking in the Finger Lakes. Autographed copies of his book will be available for purchase.

When & Where
Fox Run Vineyards
Fox Run Vineyards overlooks Seneca Lake in the heart of New York’s Finger Lakes, one of the world’s premier cool-climate wine regions. For more than a century, Fox Run was a dairy farm until being restored and opened as a winery in 1990. Today Fox Run is one of the mostvisited wineries in the Finger Lakes. With fifty acres of vineyards, the winery was one of the region’s first artisanal wine producers, creating a remarkable range of limited-production, site-expressive estate wines. Owner Scott Osborn and winemaker Peter Bell and his team are changing the perception of Finger Lakes wines with startling Rieslings and cool-climate Chardonnays. Regularly recognized in national wine publications, Fox Run Vineyards was named one of the top 100 wineries in the world by Wine & Spirits Magazine in 2008, and has been a multiple gold medal winner at the Riesling du Monde competition in Strasbourg, France.
