Become a part of the MovNat family by training first-hand with MovNat creator Erwan Le Corre in the woods and lake of  West Virginia.

The MovNat Experience

You will learn the fundamental principles that helped make our species one of the most adaptable on Earth.

In the five nights of camping and 4 and one-half days of MovNat training you will:

  • Develop a greater understanding of the "zoo" and begin the rehabilitation process, including the many ways you can remain connected to your true nature while among the "zoo."
  • Enhance your ability to perceive the messages from your body, environment and the situation.
  • Develop the holistic qualities needed for effective and efficient action.
  • Learn methods of breathing that will allow you stay relaxed and alert.
  • Practice on a fully-scalable designed course that meets individual needs regardless of background, experience, condition age or gender.
  •  Learn optimal methods of walking, running, jumping, balancing, moving on all fours, climbing, lifting, carrying, throwing, catching, swimming and defending while preventing injury.
  • Practice opportunist training which will allow you to train anywhere, anytime by programming your own training.

We offer two MovNat training Workshops "Reawakening "and "Expansion"

‘Reawakening’ Workshop:

The Reawakening Workshop is for those who:

  • feel rather out of shape, and want to learn how to move naturally, efficiently and injury-free.
  • are inspired by MovNat, but feel a bit intimidated by the idea of practicing natural movement.
  • are physically active people but with only a specialized sport background.
  • have not been to a MovNat training and/or meet few or very few of the criteria for the Expansion Workshop.

The Reawakening Workshop will fully adapt to your physical possibilities, and will help you to gradually build self-confidence through MovNat conditioning drills.

You will train with people who just like you have decided to reawaken and reconnect to their true nature.

Self-assessment: You have no serious health issues including acute and chronic injuries that require medical attention such as a physical therapist and prevent your full participation.

 

‘Expansion’ Workshop:

The Expansion Workshop is for those who:

  • are physically active. You, as well as your peers consider you to be fit to very fit.
  • want to expand your training regimen to make it more functional and real.
  • are looking for a comprehensive training system designed to prepare for real-world challenges through the acquisition of practical and adaptive movement skills.

By attending the Expansion Workshop you will have the opportunity to optimize, broaden and equalize your natural movement skills and to experience the primal and natural feel of a MovNat practice.

Self-assessment criteria for this course:

You have some "barefooting" experience

You can run 10 kilometers (a 10k) in under 50 minutes easily (an 8 minute mile pace)

You can easily perform 10 explosive pull-ups in a row

You have some powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting experience and can at least deadlift and squat your own bodyweight and clean and jerk half your body weight

You can hold a well-aligned plank pose for at least a minute.

You can do 20 successive walking lunges while maintaining your stability, and you can at least vertical jump up to your knee-level, and long jump the distance of  half your height from a static posture, then stabilize your body easily.

You can comfortably swim freestyle and backstroke

You have some martial art or defense experience (i.e. boxing, wrestling)

You can hold your breath at least one minute and 30 seconds

You have no serious health issues that prevent you from performing optimally including injuries that you must work around

 

Note: If you meet all, but one or two of the self-evaluation criteria then you you should contact richard@movnat.com for permission to register for the Expansion program.

 

Basic Workshop Itinerary (similar for both courses)

We do not provide a specific intinerary as Erwan wants you to expect the unexpected, but please note the following:

 

Duration: 5 days (training starts day after 1st night stay)

Workshop will kick-off with an initial 15-minute assessment to evaluate performance parameters in specific natural movement patterns. A ten-minute follow up explanation and guidance through the individualized drills prescribed as a result of this assessment

There will be 4 and one-half days of actual training, 2-3 training sessions per day in which you will train the individual capacities followed by a combination challenge. We will also spend a significant amount of time working on mobility and flexibility drills.

The next to last day you will be reassessed for natural movement capacity improvement.

The final day will begin with a fast followed by an ultimate course.

Each evening will end with a seminar presentation in the evening.

You wil be provided with three copious meals per day before, in between and after training sessions and MovNat seminar presentations.

You wil be provided with a tent and bedding.

Transportation to Summmersville is not included, but transportation fom the Charleston Airport to the campsite is provided.

 

The cost for the course is: $1,490

 

NB:
_These workshops are not certification events.
_You need to be 18 minimum to attend.
_Attendees will benefit of a 20% discount on a future level 1 certification seminar.

 

The MovNat workshops will  enbale you to explore and discover your true nature through your reconnection to nature.

 

About Summersville Lake:

Surrounded by wooded hills, it is West Virginia’s largest lake. Summersville Lake has over 28,000 acres of crystal clear fresh water and 60 miles of shoreline.

Superb water quality and sheer sandstone cliffs make Summersville Lake a unique outdoors site for camping.

Workshop includes R/T transport to/from Yeager Airport to event site.
