Benefitting The American Place Theatre's LITERATURE TO LIFE arts and literacy program which brings arts and literacy programs to over 30,000 underserved students annually. This innovative program serves students and teachers across New York City and in 72 cities throughout the country.
This annual Gala will be a homecoming celebration at the original home of APT since 1963. It is a place where cherished authors and poets were first nurtured as writers for the stage; writers and actors like Robert Lowell, Sam Shepard, Dustin Hoffman, and Frank Langella.
The premiere performances of Fahrenheit 451* will conclude with readings of very short passages from great literature by distinguished guests.
*The program will be the same each evening, though the readers may vary.
