Event Details

1952 is an original play written and directed by Yekaterina Minskova set in mid-century America.

The story begins when an abusive stepfather accuses his young stepdaughter of being crazy to mask his abusive, diabolical behavior.

Everything isn’t always what it seems in 1952…

The author boldly addresses many hard topics and the far too common misdiagnoses that went along with the times.  The subject matter is  inspired by actual patient accounts and addresses many hard topics manifested in the dark corners of the  1950s American Mental Health System.

1952 incorporates film scenes juxtaposed with live theater creating a completely unique experience for patrons and fully utilizing the unorthodox and progressive setting of New York’s downtown hotspot, WIP(Work in Progress).

This is the first production of the kind to be held at the chic Soho lounge,  heralded for it’s downtown art decor and celebrity clientele.
