Description

Please join David Harvey and Meredith Webster for a short performance of, Ladysmith Draw, created in residency at Dancers' Workshop in Jackson, Wyoming.

This work is anchored in the middle of nowhere, antelope range. In pursuit of wildness and with respect to threatening skies, we notice how quiet we get, how quiet our bodies become. How loud we are, and how loud our listening gets. How we slip and clamber and gaze. How our bodies become landscapes, maps that can carry with us traces of where we've been. We find ourselves compelled to move and we listen to our movement with new ears.

"...no three people could cover everything of importance, especially in the personal terms we have chosen to adopt. So each of us, in making each contribution, concentrates on places that he knows well and feels deeply, places he has put something of himself into and derived something of himself from." -Wallace Stegner and Jack Macrae, American Places

PLEASE RSVP. ATTENDANCE IS LIMITED.

David Harvey is from Bainbridge Island Washington, and Meredith Webster is from Manitowoc, Wisconsin. For the last 6 years they have worked together at Alonzo King's Lines Ballet in San Francisco, where multiple duets were created on them. David and Meredith are especially grateful to Lisa Dolby Chadwick, Babs Case, and the Dancers' Workshop community for their support.
