-- About the Artists --

* HAYWYRE *

Haywyre consists of Martin Vogt, who has been studying piano since the age of six. His interest in the production of various genres of electronic music and piano instrumentals began growing when he lived in Austria; there, he was exposed to jazz and hip-hop for the first time. Shortly after moving back to the U.S. in 2008, Haywyre was created. Now, his mission can be defined by providing his listeners with music that presents variety, originality, and ideas stemming from his jazz and classical knowledge base. The most general description to Martin’s sound can be described as memorable melodies and (jazz / classically influenced) chord progressions in the context of progressive electronic music. Synthetic and organic elements combine in works inspired by artists such as Noisia, Flying Lotus, KOAN Sound, Hans Zimmer, Clint Mansell, Austin Peralta, and Abdullah Ibrahim. His main compositional tool is the piano; countless nights are spent drafting harmonic and melodic outlines by improvising. For live performances, Haywyre also includes his 88-key midi-keyboard to perform the melodies while triggering the stems to the rest of the pieces. His guitar work can also be heard in many tracks (and sometimes other instruments, such as the Duduk, as well). So far, he has mastered every release himself (except the Draw The Line EP).

* LATE NIGHT RADIO *

Hustling to make his mark in Denver, Colorado’s electronic music melting pot, Late Night Radio is earning the respect of fans and peers alike through prolific production, innovative experimentation, and a dogged dedication to the craft. Alex Medellin has put in his time in the industry, coming up in Texas and California, but his ascension in the Colorado scene speaks to his ability to not only create a stunning array of original tracks, but bring them to life on stage, practicing what he preaches—guided by the mantra “emotion over energy.”

Medellin’s background in hip-hop is crucial to his development as a producer. Unlike some of his contemporaries who came up in the dance music scene, Late Night Radio keeps his cuts funky and inventive with an unshakable commitment to soulful grooves. Even when LNR breaks into high-energy, cabinet-rattling climaxes, the emotional depth remains. His wildly popular Vinyl Restoration series of old-school mixes has rooted his sound in deep, expressive sampling that keeps him firmly grounded in the lessons of the past, while reaching forward to craft his own signature sound.

* OPRHIC *

Joel Jakub (aka “Orphic”) is an up and coming producer from Detroit living in Venice Beach, California. He is the newest member on the Take Back the Night Productions' roster and his mission is to blend the passionate yet alien sounds of bass music into a funky stew of delicious melodies reminiscent of the musical bloom of Motown as experienced from another planet. It’s like listening to Stevie Wonder through a kaleidoscope. His unique, groovy sound is sure to revolutionize the way people define “EDM”. He pushes the parameters of genre barriers, and doesn’t limit his creativity to a specific style or BPM. Orphic’s compositions are sure to get any dance floor moving and every booty bouncin’, and are diverse enough to span all age ranges and genre preferences. Fractal Beach, Orphic’s newest release and first full album, that was released on February 24 on Adapted Records, sends you to another planet where only good vibes and funky grooves exist. If you would like to be taken on a psychedelic journey through space and time, this is for you. Welcome to a new era of music.
