Description
At this event, IFTF is bringing science, art, and magic to our exploration of a Health-Aware World. We'll look beyond the wave of wearables that will flood the market over the next few years to see a more networked, aware, and perhaps even more equitable landscape of health support. Join us!
November 13, 2014 Schedule:
BOOK TALK
9:00 - 10:30AM
DAVID ROSE, award-winning entrepreneur and instructor at the MIT Media Lab will discuss his new book, Enchanted Objects: Design, Human Desire, and the Internet of Things (1 copy of book provided per registration).
PROTOTYPING SESSION
10:30AM - 4:30PM
Join innovators from across the health and well-being sector for a series of interactive workshops. Choose from one of four “catalyzing action” tracks:
- BUILD: This hands-on session will teach basic skills of programming sensors and making wearable devices.
- ENGAGE: Design a campaign that engages people in their own health as a form of civic participation.
- EMBED: Hit the streets of Palo Alto to install “guerrilla futures”. How do we go stealth and make environments support health for the unengaged and disinterested?
- UNITE: Make a strategy for how to engage with regulations, established health insitutions, and start-ups to ensure interoperability between the disparate data streams that make a health aware world possible.
GALLERY RECEPTION
4:30 - 6:00PM
Join us in our new Gallery for the Future to see exhibits on the themes from Health Horizon’s research.
