This year, due to his consistent commitment to the growth and development of small businesses throughout the Queens and Long Island communities, Mr. Edgard Hernandez, Director PTAC, will be honored by City Council Member and Chair of NYC Council’s Committee on Small Business, Ms. Diana Reyna. A special recognition will also be provided to the President of LaGuardia Community College, Dr. Gail O’Connor Mellow, as well as three PTAC businesses who will be receiving a citation from Council Member Reyna's office for their recent achievements.

This workshop will allow expo attendees to engage in a panel discussion format regarding PLA's and Public Work Requirements under Article 8 Section 220 of NYS Law. What’s in federal health reform for small businesses?
At least for many people (and many small businesses) the rising cost of health insurance was and still may be the biggest problem that needs to be addressed with regard to the federal health reform.
Open enrollment for the online Individual and SHOP Exchange will start October 1, 2013. It's vital to learn what the employer coverage requirements consist of before open enrollment. If you are a small business owner who already provides health insurance coverage, the Affordable Care Act may provide up to 35% tax credits for you. Eight-three percent of small businesses in New York State are eligible for the credit, and out of those twenty-four percent are eligible for the FULL credit. It's time to come learn whether your business is eligible and how the affordable Health Care Law is will affect and help small businesses.
